Project Introduction
EVIGENCE has developed Visual Freshness Sensors – low cost sensors that change color to indicate whether a product has been kept in correct temperature conditions throughout the supply chain. The sensors are activated and placed on either carton box or individual item at the point of manufacture, enabling real-time monitoring and management of the cold chain while also improving inventory management and reducing waste. 
 
Innovation: The Visual Freshness Sensors are highly accurate, reproducible and can be calibrated to meet the shelf lives of all refrigerated foods. EVIGENCE believes that this is the first time a viable, commercial solution for real-time temperature monitoring has been brought to a market-ready state.
 
 
Economic and Social Impact
Economic Impact: Managing freshness on the unit level will improve the freshness of goods sold, improving customer experience. This will help to improve the image and sales of the retailer and brand owners.
 
Social Impact: The Visual Freshness Sensors will help brands and retailers decrease temperature related waste within their systems, leading to a reduction in the overall amount of food discarded.

EVIGENCE Sensors' products are fully customizable. We want to create a product or products which are relevant for the Chinese market. We want to understand the specific pains and desires from different stakeholders throughout the entire supply chain from FARM to TABLE. We look towards our mentor providing guidance that will help us bridge the link between our technology and the market needs.
